The Republican Governors Association is wading in to the competitive Michigan governor’s race by calling the Democrat’s economic plan “a total fantasy”.
The RGA released a commercial this week attacking Democrat Mark Schauer’s economic plan, saying that the Democrat has not detailed how he would pay for the plan. Schauer, a former congressman and state Senate minority leader, is challenging Gov. Rick Snyder (R) for reelection.
“Not a single point in there that would create a job,” the ad said.
Schauer released the 10-point economic plan at the end of July. According to milive.com, the plan includes a focus on infrastructure development, investment in the manufacturing industry and alternative energy, including the construction of alternative energy equipment within Michigan.
The race between Schauer and Snyder has become increasingly competitive, with polls showing the Democrat close to the first term Republican. WIDV.com reported that a Democratic Governors Association ad on Schauer’s behalf has helped the Democrat raise his name identification in the Detroit metro area.
